SIGIR 2027 convenes within the Thámien Ohlone-speaking tribal territory of the Santa Clara Valley — the unceded ancestral homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. We honor and respect the Muwekma Ohlone people, past, present, and emerging, and their enduring connection to this land.

The flagship IR conference, at an inflection point for the field
SIGIR is the premier international forum for the presentation of new research results and the demonstration of new systems and techniques in information retrieval. The conference spans papers, demonstrations, tutorials, workshops, doctoral consortium activities, industry participation, and community events.
The 2027 edition marks fifty years of SIGIR and places that milestone in Silicon Valley, where search, recommendation, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic systems are being shaped in both research and deployment.
